Capitol BEST - Girls in STEM Program, Nov 1st
Download the Flyer

We are planning a new parallel program this year with emphasis on inspiring girls to pursue engineering, science and technology. The Girls In STEM program will be held in conjunction with Capitol BEST Game day, November 1st at Dripping Springs High School. The program will include a special luncheon for girls and a special workshop/tours for those not directly participating in BEST. All middle school and high school girls are invited but must register for the event. They need not be involved in BEST Robotics currently.

Girls on our BEST teams will attend the luncheon and some will briefly share their experiences with the girls not actively involved on a BEST team. The girls will hang out with UT women in engineering students in small groups as they tour various portions of the BEST competition and participate in other hands-on STEM activities.

Please help us actively recruit middle school and high school girls to participate in this program. Tell your girls to invite their friends to come and see what BEST and STEM is all about. The program is open to ANY middle school or high school girls so please help us pass the word.

Girls should register for the program at http://2014girlsinstem.eventbrite.com.

The program is a cooperation between Capitol BEST, UT Women in Engineering, GirlStart and Dripping Springs High School. It is sponsored by Capitol BEST and the National Girls Collaborative Project. See flyer for details.
